Nuans Naming Standards

When you submit your nuans search to the jurisdiction where you want to register your business, evaluators will review your name & the names on the report in order to determine the acceptability of your proposed name. To move the process along smoothly, it's in your best interest to choose a name that follows the naming guidelines issued by the federal & provincial governments.

Generally speaking you want a name that is:

DISTINCTIVE - it separates you from other companies
DESCRIPTIVE - it provides info about what you do

NB - If you are incorporating, you will also need a legal ending (Limited or Ltd., Corporation or Corp., Incorporated or Inc.)

"Zippideezonk" is a very distinctive name, but what do they do? "Zippideezonk Kiddie Party Planners" adds the descriptive element that tells the public what the company does.
